Class Objectives:
This class is to be an introduction into the study of sociology. After successful completion of this course the student should :
1. be able to identify and use various research designs and understand how they pplayto the study of social life.
2. be able to demonstrate an understanding of the major theoretical perspectives employed in the discipline.
3. be able to demonstrate an understanding of how social class affects individual life chances.
4. be able to demonstrate an understanding of social structure and how it shapes and influences social interactions.
5. be able to demonstrate an understanding of cross-cultural differences and an understanding of the importance of cultural context.
